The second official Miss Diaspora Australia contest was held at the Serbian-Montenegrin Centre Willawong
, Brisbane, Queensland. Last years’ winner, Jelena Trkulja from Sydney crowned Vanja Petrovic, a 21-year old International Politics and Business Management student. Vanja is from Browns Plains (Queensland) and she is in the final year of her studies after which she will have obtained two degrees from the Queensland University of Technology.
The 1st runner up was Avala Markovic from Wyong (New South Wales), the proud holder of an impressive 3 university degrees: Bachelor of Arts (majors in Political Science and Russian Studies), Bachelor of Science & Mathematics (major in Philosophy and a minor in Psychology) and Bachelor of Laws (LLB)!
Avala is currently an Honours student in Political Science/International Relations and Russian Studies at the University of New South Wales in Sydney.
The 2nd runner up was Ivana Dragicevic from Blacktown, NSW, who is a student of Psychology at the University of New South Wales in Sydney.
The extraordinary levels of education and professional skills have once again proven that Miss Diaspora contestants are living proof that the real beauty comes from inside!
